Standards Council

Mandate

The Standards Council oversees the standards ecosystem as a whole. It is the coherence organ: it keeps the body of IAASO standards consistent, non-duplicative, and aligned with the formal lifecycle of Article VIII.

Responsibilities

• Approving committee charters
• Maintaining a standards roadmap
• Harmonizing terminology across standards
• Reviewing draft standards for cross-domain coherence
• Recommending ratification actions

Composition

Senior technical and institutional delegates with demonstrated standards competence, constituted under rules that enforce the Article XV safeguards — disclosure of conflicts, role separation, and rotation or term limits where appropriate.
